Paul Ditisheim. An 18ct Yellow Gold Seed Pearl Set Keyless Lever Fob Watch C1880
Dial: A beautiful translucent enamel dial with Arabic numerals outer gold dot set minute track and subsidiary seconds dial at six o'clock. The original gold coloured spade hands with matching seconds hand. The dial is protected by a mineral glass.
Case: The superb 18ct yellow gold case is set with fine half seed pearls to the front bezel. The back of the case is finely set with seed pearls. The winder is also set with a seed pearl. The inner cover is plain. The case is stamped PD, having Swiss hallmarks and being numbered aswell.
Movement: The excellent nickel finished high quality Swiss fully jewelled to the centre arbor movement with compensation balance, fast slow regulation and keyless lever wind. The movement is not signed.
Paul Ditisheim (1868-1945) was a renowned Swiss watchmaker who revolutionized precision timekeeping through his chronometer research and innovations. By 1903, his watches were honored by the Observatories of Kew and Neuchâtel. In 1912, he achieved the world chronometric record at the Royal Kew Observatory. It is very rare to find ladies fob watches made by this maker and in such pristine condition. It would make a fine addition to ones collection.
